New Year, New Intel. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve posted any updates. Rob and I have discussed 2025 not too long ago and here’s what we know.
As always, a dedicated page is created to keep all the relevant information in one place. That gets updated as soon as new information is available and with information from some of these posts.
Balance Due
They say things are bigger in Texas and that includes the price tag. This is the most expensive reunion we’ve had yet but it’s still a reasonable price that covers food and lodging for a 3 day trip for a person, especially for couples.
For each Marine, the balance due this year is $300. This will cover lodging and meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) for the 3 day reunion. Payments are due no later than April 30, 2025. That gives you 4 months to pay using the normal payment channels. If you decide you can’t make it, let me know. This will be important when we assign cabins in early July.
We have 34 paid deposits and that’s what our math is based on. Since many are flying to Texas, we’ve rounded up more than usual to cover stuff that is normally assigned to people to bring.
Resort/Cabin Information
There is a lot of detailed information about all of the cabins we’ve reserved. I’ll gather relevant information up and share what we know later in a separate post. Keep an eye out for that. Check out their website for a sneak peek, link is above.
Remaining checklist items
Menu
Traditionally, Marrapode makes Jambalaya for dinner on arrival day (Wednesday’s dinner) and I make breakfast one morning. Others volunteer their time to cook or prepare a specific menu. If you’d like to volunteer to cook a meal, submit the form below. We’re looking to fill out the menu before too long making sure it’s in the budget.

Room Assignments
Marrapode works his magic every year to assign cabins and/or rooms to everyone. You should expect to see that as we get closer to the reunion since it’s inevitable that people always drop out at the last minute.
Fundraiser Shirts
I’m hoping to get 2 designs for everyone to vote on by spring. Once voting ends, I’ll put them up for sale to raise additional funds.
If you would like to help by creating a design and some competition, let me know. You may know someone (friend or family) that can create a design or if you would like to hire someone to create it for you, it would be a new addition to our annual reunions to have someone else create a shirt design and replace one of mine.
Travel Tip
I think many are flying to Texas, myself included. I created a post back in 2022 in preparation for the Idaho reunion about Google’s Flight Tracker for airline tickets. I find it very helpful to find the best time to buy tickets, check out the post. The only issue is that It doesn’t track Southwest’s ticket prices and I’ve been told that Southwest is a good choice for one of the airports in the area.
That’s about it for now. I’m excited to seeing everyone again in July. If you’re new to this and have questions or you’re a regular and have helpful suggestions for everyone, feel free to share below.
